ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Caroline Loncol Daigneault is an author and curator. In 2013–2014, she was invited to be a writer-observer by choreographer Tedi Tafel, as well as by the centre Vaste et Vague for a project with local Mi’kmaq communities. In 2012, she curated the Biennale de sculpture de Saint-Jean-Port-Joli around the theme of hospitality, and also worked on ELLE MARCHE blue mountain, a laboratory-exhibition with artist Vida Simon. A fervent advocate of hybrid art-writing practices, she initiated the Laboratoire parcellaire, a writing residency at OBORO that resulted in a cultural mediation series and an eponymously titled publication (released by La Peuplade in 2011). Caroline is worked with AdMare artist-run centre to develop Le chant des pistes, a residency-event in the Magdalen Islands. Thanks to a Canada Council project grant for critics and curators, she has also been concentrating on a writing project about the dialogues that connect women artists with the environment.
